Professional studio headshots for individuals, teams and businesses in Victoria, BC

You know how important first impressions are. Yet many professionals settle for old headshots that no longer reflect how they look. A modern, clean, confident portrait is a powerful way to build a visual connection on LinkedIn, your website, social media, a speaker bio, or a business directory. Each headshot portrait session is relaxed and guided from start to finish. Chris will help you feel at ease in front of the camera, providing guidance on how to pose for a natural and polished result. Book a studio session with Chris for headshots you’ll be proud to share.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How often should I update my headshot?

You should update your headshot whenever you feel your current one no longer looks like you or reflects who you are professionally. If your appearance has changed, you’ve started a new business, or you’re refreshing your brand, it’s probably time for a new headshot. As a general guide, every 1-3 years is a good starting point, but there’s no rules. The key is that when someone looks at your photo, they see the person they can expect to meet today!

What’s the difference between a headshot and a portrait?

A headshot is typically a closer, more focused image of you, often used for business profiles, websites, and professional introductions. A portrait gives us more room to get creative and show more of your personality, whether through your surroundings, your expression, or the things that make you unique. It depends on what you want your images to say about you. Whether you want something clean and professional or something more personal and creative, we can work together to find the right approach. It’s ideal to have both!

Should I book a studio or outdoor portrait session?

It depends on the look and feel you’re after. If you want something clean, a simple studio session with controlled lighting is probably best. If you prefer a more relaxed, natural feel with a bit more personality, an outdoor session might be better. Many clients find value in investing in both.

How far in advance should I book?

Chris recommends reaching out 2–4 weeks ahead so there’s plenty of time to schedule and plan your shoot. If you’re on a tighter timeline, feel free to reach out right away. He may have some last-minute availability.

Do I need to know how to pose?

Not at all! Being in front of a camera can feel awkward, but that’s completely normal. Chris will guide and direct you to pose and make small adjustments, so you feel comfortable and look your best. There’s no need to prepare or feel pressured to know what you’re doing. Just relax, be yourself, and we’ll figure it out together.

What if I’m nervous in front of the camera?

You are not alone! Feeling shy in front of a camera is normal, especially if you’re not used to it. Chris will help you feel comfortable in yourself. He’ll guide you along the way, so you don’t have to worry about what to do or how to pose. Chris’s clients often say these sessions are fun and empowering.

What should I wear?

Solid colours and simple clothing tend to work best. Wear something comfortable that helps you feel confident. The more relaxed you are, the more natural the photos will look, and that’s what we’re aiming for.

How many photos will I receive?

You’ll receive an online gallery of your headshots to review and select your favourites. The packages include two professionally edited photos, with an option to add more photos for an additional fee.

Will I get to choose my favourites?

Absolutely! You’ll receive an online gallery where you can view your photos and choose the images you love most for final editing. The goal is for you to have photographs you genuinely love and are excited to share.

Do you retouch the photos?

Yes! Chris takes great care editing each image, making sure the light, tones, and details come together. He aims to keep things looking natural and true to who you are. His goal is to create photographs that feel authentic and that you’ll love sharing and looking back on for years to come.

Do you offer team or corporate headshots?

Yes, absolutely! Chris photographs teams at your workplace or another location you choose, using his portable studio. He’ll work with you to create a consistent look across everyone’s headshots while keeping things natural and professional. These images are perfect for your website, social media, and other marketing materials.
